Avery Kalpin is Summer Student at Rosen Kirshen Tax Law. Over the summer, he has gained significant experience assisting Taxpayer Relief Applications, Voluntarily Disclosure Program submissions, and preparing for all stages of the tax dispute resolution process.
After his first year of law school, Avery completed an internship at the Tax Law Services section of the Department of Justice of Canada. He had the fortunate opportunity of working with seasoned government lawyers as they prepared for trials on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency. He is now pursuing a career in the private sector in order to provide much needed representation to embattled individuals dealing with the CRA.
Prior to law school, Avery obtained his Bachelor of Arts Honours degree at Queen’s University, and completed a semester abroad at Sciences Po, a renowned political science university in Paris. In his final year he completed a year-long Honours Thesis on public housing policy in South Africa.
In his spare time, Avery enjoys travelling, reading, hiking, and keeping up with current events. Avery has excelled in his legal studies at the University of Ottawa and is entering his third and final year. He is then looking forward to articling with RKTL in 2019.
