Mahdi Al-Toum
Personal Experience
Mahdi Al-Toum is a Summer Student at Rosen Kirshen Tax Law.
Mahdi is a JD/MBA student at Queen’s Faculty of Law and is nearly finished law school. In completing his MBA, Mahdi worked in many teams on projects both as a team member and project lead. Spending 6 months with the same team of diverse individuals, he worked in building a three-stage management consulting project for a seed-stage tech company. Mahdi also worked with the Tri-Colour Venture Fund in conducting due diligence and making an investment recommendation with another team of 6 members. Having participated and leading several client meetings, Mahdi knows just how important understanding the client and clear communication is in providing advice.
In law school, Mahdi worked with Pro Bono Students Canada and conducted legal research in Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. His findings of how small businesses are impacted by the law were compiled in preparation for a legal information presentation to the Napanee Chamber of Commerce.
Mahdi obtained his honours B.A in Commerce with a focus in accounting, as well as a minor in music from McMaster University. Much of his time was spent tutoring and mentoring first year students.
A flutist at heart, Mahdi enjoys playing music for events and at home. His other interests include playing pool with friends and hiking around nearby trails.
